Neucarron Wars: Timeline

The history of Neucarro is peppered with long periods of conflict between the four nations, with longer periods of war than peace. Recorded history is exceptionally fragmented and shabby. Historians only have access to reliable information for the past 750 years. Below is a list of key military events historians have been able to detail with reasonable certainty.

 

1. Nuclear War (1) – 0187

   1. Estimated use of forty nuclear weapons in a war between Reclara and Troon.

2. Cyber Wars – 0213-0245

   1. Reference to “The Cyber Wars” has been found in fragmented pieces of paper history from the period 0213-0245. Sparse details indicate devastating cyber-attacks worldwide by each region. This ended with an event called “Blackout” which historians theorise was the mass destruction of most online and networked data files. Historians point to this event as a major explanation as to why so much of history from this period, and none from before, is available. With the pervious Nuclear War, much historical data held would have been destroyed, leaving only e-versions which were then subsequently destroyed with “The Blackout.”

3. First Drumbora Wars – 0347-0348

   1. Large naval engagements between Reclara and Troon over the resource rich Drumbora Islands. Two hundred naval ships were sunk, based on wreckage found. With Neucarro having unusually deep oceans, historians believe the number could be much higher. Remnants of Lovin and Frudin navy vessels were also found.

4. Coup D’état Alliance – 0494-0499

   1. In probably the most argued point of history, there is evidence to suggest that for the first time Frudin, Lovin and Troon all declared war on Reclara. This has been fervently rebutted by historians in both Lovin and Frudin. Recent evidence though has suggested this was due to genetic experimentation and manipulation on animals and soldiers to create a super-army in Reclara. The combined armies of Troon, Lovin and Frudin were eventually able to bypass the air and sea defences of the Reclaran continent and cause enough damage that Reclara stopped all work in these areas. The Gene Laws were signed by all four regions in 0499 and still exist today.

5. Invasion of Frudin – 0589-0599

   1. Reclara launched a surprise invasion of Frudin for access to their deep natural gas deposits. Frudin did not have the resources to extract these deep deposits, and after repeated offers of help from Reclara in return for a percentage of the gas, Reclara invaded. This invasion lasted ten years. Historians estimate the death toll at one million.

6. Energy Wars – 0634 – 0711

   1. The Energy Wars began as world shortages of oil and gas led to rolling power cuts and rationing. While not full global war, historians have bunched this period of 77 years together as constant regional conflict between each nation.

7. The Snow Wars – 0741 – 0749

   1. The Snow Wars were a direct result of the Reclaran expedition to the Fabled Islands. This deep expedition uncovered what would lead to Project Stars. The war ended in 0749 when an asteroid struck the Reclaran continent. Troon declared peace and was the first to offer aid.

8. The Great War – 0816 – 0824

   1. The deadliest recorded war in Neucarron history. Atmospheric changes and an estimated two billion dead. Directly led to the formation of the world government. Even during the Hunter administration, there are still select areas of the planet that are still being rehabilitated from nuclear fallout.
